I joined Access Legal in July 2010. I was previously a partner at Ironsides and Nelsons Solicitors.
I have been undertaking personal injury claims for more than 30 years and only act for the victims of accidents. I act for individuals who have suffered life changing injuries.
I provide support to my clients and their families from my first instruction to the end of their claim making sure I am available and accessible to them and to promote and maximise their recovery by arranging suitable rehabilitation and treatment.
Most of my instructions come from personal referrals from existing and former clients and other professionals. I adopt a sensible, realistic and pragmatic approach in my dealings with other parties and will engage with them to ensure individual claims are progressed to early settlement.
I am a member of the Spinal Injuries Association, Headway Panel and the Professional Negligence Association.
I have a particular interest and specialism in brain injury claims and have won numerous £1m+ compensation claims for the victims of such accidents, and several multi-million pound claims.
I am a member of the Headway Panel. I am a trustee and company secretary of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Headway, and Company Secretary and steering Committee member of the Northampton Acquired Brain Injury Forum.
I have an expertise in spinal injury cases and have acted for clients who have suffered both quadriplegic and paraplegic injuries, and have negotiated settlement of claims both on a lump sum and annual payments basis.
I am a keen weekend cyclist and have cycled regularly since growing up in Sheffield. I now enjoy cycling with my teenage sons.
I have considerable experience of acting for the victims of cycling accidents having done so for more than 30 years and from my own experience as a cyclist am well aware of the particular hazards and risks that cyclists face every day on the roads in this country from the poor state of the roads themselves to the actions of motorists who often seem unaware of the presence of cyclists.
I have successfully concluded claims for serious brain injury and multiple fractures suffered by the victims of cycling accidents.
I have undertaken many claims for inured people who have suffered amputation injuries and catastrophic injuries that have resulted in surgical amputations.
I am currently acting for individuals who have suffered both lower limb and upper limb amputations.
I carry out much of my own advocacy, and regularly appear as an advocate in inquests and in the county and High Court.

Nothing ever seemed too difficult, no question was ever deemed to be too trivial, deadlines were always met well in advance, and every stage, however complicated and confusing, was handled professionally but also compassionately.'
